    Helen Brand OBE is chief executive of ACCA, the global body for professional accountants, a post she has held since 2008.

    Helen has built her career within professional bodies and has considerable experience and knowledge of the 180 markets in which ACCA currently operates. She has worked closely with IFAC (the International Federation of Accountants) in an advisory capacity over many years, is a London Honorary Advisory Board member of the Women’s Executive Network (WXN) is a founding member of the International Integrated Reporting Council (IIRC), and now sits on the IIRC Board.

    One of the few women to lead a global professional body, Helen Brand is a passionate advocate for the role ethics and the delivery of public value play in business and society, with ACCA becoming the first international professional body to publish an integrated report on its performance in 2011. She has also driven ACCA’s pioneering work in developing the profession across Asia, sub-Saharan Africa, Europe and the Middle East.

    Helen was awarded an OBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list in June 2011 for services to accountancy. Presenting at

    Andrew Harding is Chief Executive – Management Accounting of The Association of International Certified Professional Accountants. Prior to this he was Chief Executive of CIMA as it joined forces to create the world’s most influential accountancy Association, representing the full breadth of the profession.

    He served as Managing Director of CIMA from 2011 to 2016 and was responsible for the institute’s operational performance.

    Andrew is a chartered global management accountant, a chartered accountant, and holds an MBA from Henley Business School. Prior to joining CIMA in 2009, Andrew worked for 17 years in professional body education, regulation and management.

    He is a keen musician and supporter of Queens Park Rangers F.C.

    Syed Ahmad Taufik Albar, is the Group Chief Financial Officer at RHB Banking Group, whom he joined on 1 Nov 2016.

    Taufik has more than 20 years working experience and has worked in a wide range of industries, both in Malaysia and overseas. Prior to joining RHB Banking Group, he was the Group Chief Financial Officer at UEM Group where he was also responsible for the Group’s strategy formulation and implementation efforts.

    Taufik began his career with Shell and held various finance positions in Malaysia and Australia, and in his final posting was based at the Shell Exploration & Production headquarters in the Netherlands. He left Shell in 2009 to join Axiata Group where he had assignments at their HQ as well as at their operating companies Celcom in Malaysia and Smart Axiata in Cambodia.

    Taufik holds a Master of Economics and a Bachelor of Accounting degrees, both from International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). He is a fellow of Chartered Institute of Management Accountant and a member of Malaysian Institute of Accountants.

    Married and a proud father of two boys and a girl, Taufik counts as his achievements the role he played as a co-founder of the Speech and Interpersonal Communications Unit at IIUM and as a co-author of the guide to the parliamentary debate format used for the Royal Malaysian Intervarsity Debating Championship. When his kids let him, Taufik still finds time to adjudicate at schools and university debating competitions.

    Noel is the BDO Global Head of Regulatory & Public Policy Affairs, and a Chartered Accountant with over 30 years’ experience. Prior to taking up a role in risk management and regulatory affairs in 2004, which soon evolved into the position of BDO’s Global Head of Regulatory & Public Policy Affair based in Brussels, Noel was an audit and advisory partner in Ireland.

    In his current role, he coordinates the involvement of the BDO network globally in regulatory and public policy affairs as well as develops, oversees and executes the public policy strategy of BDO’s Global network. He travels extensively to engage with senior regulators, policy makers, investors, corporate representatives and fellow professionals all over the world.

    Noel is BDO’s primary contact for a range of multilateral bodies including the OECD, World Bank, FSB, WTO, ESMA, IFAC and UNCTAD. He is actively involved in the Global Public Policy Committee (GPPC), the public policy group of the largest global accounting networks; and its various subgroups. Noel is also a Brussels member of the Institute of International & European Affairs.

    Within the BDO network, Noel plays a key role in various other committees and working groups including the BDO Anti-Money Laundering steering committee, the BDO Brexit Task Force and the BDO Global Financial Services Practice and Telecoms, Media & Technology industry groups.

    He has a particular interest in supporting BDO in the ASEAN region given its similarities to the EU as an economic union and has travelled regularly to the region, writing articles and issuing podcast interviews about ASEAN. He follows closely trade relations between the EU-US and the EU-ASEAN among others, commenting on developments publicly, drawing from his extensive experience on advocacy and representing the accountancy profession on public policy issues all over the world.

    Nick Parker is President of ICAEW for 2017-18; in that role he chairs its board and has been a member of its Council for 22 years. As President he is also a Patron of CABA, ICAEW wellbeing arm. He is a tax partner with RSM UK. He has a wide portfolio of clients including professional partnerships and UK subsidiaries of overseas parent companies, he mainly specialises in the SME sector.

    During his time on Council he has chaired a variety of committees including the Members Board, the Committee of Council and the Audit Committee. He was Chairman of Council for three years.

    During his career, Nick has lived in Hampshire and has worked in London, Edinburgh, Southampton and Basingstoke. He is married with two grown up sons, one who is an equine surgeon and the other who is an equine yard manager.

    In his spare time he likes to undertake adventures – he trekked to the base camp of Everest, trekked in Patagonia, sailed from Sydney to Cape Town across the Southern Ocean as part of the Global Challenge Yacht race and most recently attempted to climb Mount Aconcagua in Argentina, the highest mountain in the Western hemisphere. He also held a private pilot’s licence which has lapsed due to other commitments.

    Richard Record is a Lead Economist in the World Bank Group’s Macroeconomics and Fiscal Management Global Practice. Currently based in Kuala Lumpur, he manages the Bank’s engagement on economic policy issues in Malaysia, including publication of the flagship Malaysia Economic Monitor. Richard has previously worked across a number of countries in the East Asia and Africa regions, managing programs on macroeconomics, trade and private sector development, including assignments based in Lilongwe and Vientiane.

    Dato' Mohammad Faiz Azmi is the Immediate Past MIA President. His term as MIA President ended on 26 July 2017. He was re-appointed to the MIA Council in December 2014 after last serving on the Council in 2012. He was then appointed as the MIA President on 27 July 2015.

    Dato’ Faiz is the Executive Chairman of PriceWaterhouse Coopers (PwC) Malaysia and has over 30 years of experience in the audit and business advisory services of financial institutions in Malaysia. He has been involved in the audits of clients in the banking, healthcare, power and construction sectors. He has led a number of projects relating to strategy, investigations and merger work both locally and internationally. He has also acted as the Administrator for a national airline.

    He is also the Project Director, leading a team on the Accrual Accounting project together with the Accountant General’s Department of Malaysia.

    He currently sits on the Financial Reporting Foundation and is a member of the International Advisory Panel of Labuan International Business Financial Centre (Labuan IBFC). He is a Board Member of the Kuala Lumpur Business Club (KLBC) and Chairman of Malaysia Professional Accounting Centre (MyPAC).

    Dato’ Faiz is the past Chairman of the Malaysian Accounting Standards Board (MASB) and a Council Member of The Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA). In addition, he is a member of The Chartered Institute of Islamic Finance Professionals and chairs the Islamic Finance Working Group of the Asian-Oceanian Standard-Setters Group. Dato’ Faiz has been appointed as the Chairman of the International Accounting Standards Board’s Islamic Finance Consultative Group.

    Dato’ Faiz was educated in Malaysia and UK and read law at the University of Durham before being called to the English Bar. He is the past city Group Chairman and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), a Liveryman of the city of London, and a member of the Worshipful Company of Chartered Accountants England and Wales. He was conferred an honorary degree of Doctorate of Laws by the University of Nottingham in July 2016.

    With over 17 years’ experience in a variety of business and advisory roles, Karen started her career in the specialist field of audit and has held positions with WorleyParsons, Ernst and Young, and Deloitte in London.

    Karen is a Fellow Chartered Accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand and holds a Master of Arts in Mathematical Sciences from the University of Oxford.

    Redzuan Abdullah is heading the Surveillance & Enforcement Division, which encompasses the Investigation of complaints, Practice Reviews, Financial Statements Review, Disciplinary Proceedings and Appeal and also the Legal Unit.

    His division covers both proactive and reactive investigation. This means Redzuan’s team observes the mushrooming of serious violations and abuses in the market, where processes are being manipulated by practitioners and non-members. The team is determined to identify the abusers and nail them on the scales of justice with appropriate sanctions especially those engaging with unqualified accountants who offer public practice services. Practitioners too should be wary of engaging the services of non-audit firms (in outsourcing audits).

    The division will collaborate and engage with co-regulators to share information and initiate penal action where necessary under their respective jurisdictions per se, apart from initiating investigation and disciplinary proceedings against its members so as to ensure that no one who encroaches on the realm of law escapes penal consequences.

    Redzuan has 39 years of service as a police officer involved in technical operations and prosecution, as a Senior Magistrate handling criminal and drug-related cases and as the Senior Director of Enforcement-cum-Senior Federal Counsel in Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia handling corporate matters.

    YB Senator Datuk Paul Low is the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department of Malaysia in charge of Governance, Integrity and Human Rights.

    His portfolio involves collaborating with relevant stakeholders including Federal Ministries and State Governments to promote good governance practice and strengthening of transparency and accountability. Via an engagement and empowerment process, these stakeholders are being equipped with the necessary tools and skills to take ownership of their respective initiatives to ensure sustainability of the changes involved.

    Federal institutions that work closely with the Minister’s Office include the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), Malaysian Institute of Integrity (IIM), Enforcement Agency Integrity Commission (EAIC) and Public Complaints Bureau (PCB). He also currently chairs the National Consultative Committee On Political Funding Reform.

    YB Senator Datuk Paul Low is a chartered accountant by profession and graduated from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT), Melbourne. He has extensive knowledge and experience in the glass manufacturing and automotive industries, and was the Managing Director of Malaysian Sheet Glass Sdn Bhd until his retirement in March 2010.

    He is also the immediate past President of Transparency International Malaysia TI-M), a former President of the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM), and served on several key agencies of the Malaysian Government – some of which were the National Economic Action Council (NEAC) during the financial crisis of 1997 to 1999, Malaysian Industrial Development Authority (MIDA), Malaysian Institute of Economic Research (MIER), and Malaysian Services Development Council (MSDC).

    Additionally, he was involved actively in international multilateral organizations including APEC, WTO, ASEAN and chaired the Private Sector Taskforce on Free Trade Agreement.

    YB Senator Datuk Low also sat on the boards of Sunway Berhad and Pos Malaysia Berhad up until his appointment as a Federal Minister in 2013.

    Dr. Hariyati, or Hari, is currently a co-founder and health psychologist at Naluri Life, a health tech-nology start up, which is now working on developing a digital therapeutics apps for Malaysians to manage and maintain better physical and mental health.

    She obtained her PhD in Psychology (Health) in 2001, MSc in Applied Psychology, both from the University of Surrey in the UK (1996) and her BSc (Psychology) from the University of Wisconsin Madison in the USA (1992). She is also an EXCO of MERCY Malaysia, providing mental health and psychosocial support for communities affected by disasters and conflicts.

    Christopher Tock is the Founder and CEO of SocialGrooves.com, a boutique digital agency with a flair for empowering movements online via socially and commercially driven goals. He is also the co-founder of EYEProject.my, a social enterprise that has reduced youth unemployment in Malaysia via sustainable leadership training. Both award-winning bodies have generated socioeconomic impact with the assistance of the government, public and private sectors.

    He has also help founded several grassroot NGOs including the Global Shapers Community KL hub under WEF, Young Corporate Malaysians and the Kuala Lumpur Venture Club, among others. Most recently, he has been appointed as a Director at the Malaysian Infocomm Foundation.

    Christopher is now often found speaking at local and international conferences on the topic of social entrepreneurship and all things digital, consulting and managing brands ranging from Fortune 500 companies to sports personalities such as World no 1 badminton player Lee Chong Wei. He spends his time working with youths with the mission to unlock their talents, while discussing the 4th Industrial Revolution on social media channels as @spinzer

    Sumitra is Vice-President - Talent Development and Digital Entrepreneurship at Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC). Her key mandate is to ensure that Malaysian youth are equipped with the necessary digital competencies for the future workforce. She also serves as a Stakeholder Advisory Council member of the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) Standards for Teachers. Prior to her current position, Sumitra held leadership and advisory roles in corporate responsibility and sustainability portfolios at DiGi Telecommunications and Telenor ASA (Norway). Sumitra holds a Post-Graduate Certified Diploma in Accounting and Finance from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), Executive Management Certificate in International Marketing from INSEAD University, as well as a Bachelor of Economics with Honours from University Malaya.     With over 35 years of experience as a CEO and Business consultant Amnah played vital roles in bridging business and investment gaps between multinational blue-chip establishments in ASEAN.

    Amnah mooted and established partnerships with key Malaysian Ministries to establish the world’s first Global Halal Data Pool (GHDP) – a centralised online hub for accredited global buyers and sellers. In May 2017, together with JAKIM she launched Verify Halal App. The App is designed to empower consumers and retailers globally to instantly verify Halal status of a product.

    Amnah also sits on the board of directors across numerous chambers of commerce in Malaysia and is currently Chairman of Domestic Trade & Consumers Affairs Council & Former Vice President) and Vice President of the Arab Malaysian Chamber of Commerce amongst others.

    Ms. Chong has over 27 years of experience in the Information Technology industry and has held senior leadership roles that cut across multiple disciplines of technical, sales, business and strategy development. She has led diverse teams to successfully drive IBM’s business in multiple markets across 15 countries in Asia Pacific.

    She is the Managing Director of IBM Malaysia and holds the distinction of being the first woman to helm the company in its 55-year history in Malaysia.

    In her previous role as ASEAN Director of Intellectual Property Business, she was responsible for bringing IBM’s Intellectual Assets from IBM Laboratories around the world to clients in ASEAN and for developing Joint Research and Collaboration with the Industry, Government and Academia.

    She leads with the conviction that changing ahead of the curve and challenging status quo is necessary for both business and talent growth.

    In 2016, she was named TalentCorp’s Life@Work CEO Champion for advocating diversity and inclusion at the workplace.

    Chye Neo graduated from Universiti Sains Malaysia, where she majored in Computer Science and started her career in a manufacturing plant as a Software Development Engineer. She also attended executive programs at Harvard Business School, Boston on Marketing Strategies and Business Development.

    She is married with 2 children, who are both undergraduates in Scotland. In between work, she refines her culinary skills, reads voraciously and practices the art of mindful living.

    Michael is an independent accounting education and training consultant working with development agencies, business schools, academic and professional accounting associations and others to deepen understanding of international financial reporting requirements and fostering capacity to make, audit and regulate the judgments necessary to apply them.

    For over a decade, he led the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) Education Initiative developing the Framework-based approach for teaching International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and spreading it across the world. He qualified as a South African Chartered Accountant with Ernst & Young before being seconded to work out of the firm’s Detroit office. He subsequently joined the academic world and became the Associate Professor responsible for the financial reporting section of a South African University.

He also consults to registrants of the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (US SEC) on US GAAP and US SEC rules and regulations, including foreign filings.

She oversees the technical activities of the Institute on financial reporting, audit and assurance, public sector, taxation, Islamic finance and digital economy, including managing 5 technical committees. She provides technical support to the Institute on Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS), Malaysian Private Entities Reporting Standard (MPERS) and Malaysian Public Sector Accounting Standards (MPSAS). She actively participates in various Malaysian Accounting Standards Board (MASB) working groups and task forces and Government Accounting Standards Advisory Committee (GASAC) and speaks in various conferences and seminars. She also provides technical assistance to the World Bank Group on IFRS transition projects. She was the technical advisor to the Malaysian member of International Public Sector Accounting Standards Board (IPSASB) between 2013 and 2015. She has audit experience with the international audit firms both in Malaysia and United Kingdom. Prior to joining MIA, she was an Internal Audit Manager with Maxis. Rasmimi is a member of MIA and a fellow member of ACCA. She is currently pursuing the MIA Islamic Finance Mini Pupillage Programme.

    Claire Grayston, as Policy Adviser for Audit and Assurance at CPA Australia, is responsible for monitoring, influencing and contributing to public policy, regulation, standard setting and implementation of audit and assurance practice both within Australia and internationally. Claire focusses on both improving audit and assurance quality, through communication, education and resources, and supporting the future relevance and value of audit, through outreach, thought leadership and innovation. Claire works closely with standard setters, regulators, industry bodies, academics, public practitioners, members and other stakeholders to support outcomes of audit and assurance policy and oversight that are in the public interest, including monitoring the impact of the new auditor reporting standards.

    Claire is a regular contributor to CPA Australia publications INTHEBLACK and INPRACTICE and the CPA Australia podcast channel. CPA Australia is one of the world’s largest accounting bodies with more than 160,000 members in public practice, industry, commerce, government, not-for-profits and academia in 118 countries throughout the world.

    Prior to joining CPA Australia, Claire developed standards and guidance at the Australian Auditing and Assurance Standards Board for over 9 years. This work included significant thought leadership through new standards on controls assurance and agreed-upon procedures unique to Australia and guidance on a wide variety of matters, including assurance on service organisation controls, emissions and energy and pensions. Claire worked closely with the Australian Department of Energy and Environment and the Clean Energy Regulator to advise on the development of legislation and regulation for auditing of emissions and energy.

    Previously, Claire worked as an auditor and forensic accountant in two of the Big 4 firms, the Australian Securities and Investment Commission, the UK Serious Fraud Office and boutique investigative consultancies, in Australia and the UK.

    David Lyford-Smith is an accountant and tech expert with particular interests in the digitalisation of tax systems, blockchain and cryptocurrencies, spreadsheet skills and best practice, and the place of technology in ICAEW’s professional qualifications. In his role in the IT Faculty, David liaises with various business and practice stakeholders as well as academic and political interests to create events and publications on a variety of thought leadership activities surrounding accountants in practice.

    David began his career at BDO, beginning in audit before joining the coordination team of BDO’s Global Outsourcing division, based in Reading. David worked on supporting multinational companies with their compliance activities across international boundaries, and also spent time working on iXBRL tagging. David also ran BDO’s internal Excel training courses, travelling the country to speak on spreadsheet best practice and skills. In his final year at BDO, David transferred to a Senior Excel Practitioner role, spending 100% of his time on spreadsheet support, training, and standardisation.

    A former ICAEW Excel Community volunteer, David then joined ICAEW full-time. In addition to his thought leadership activities, David also oversees the activities of the Excel Community and is a regular blogger for that community. He presents training and risk management sessions on spreadsheeting both for the ICAEW Academy and for the regional offices.

He also sits on the boards of Malaysian Rating Corporation Berhad, AmBank (M) Berhad and UMW Holdings Berhad. Dr Veerinder has more than 30 years of experience in the fields of accounting and taxation and has served in the Inland Revenue Department, been an Associate Professor at the University of Malaya as well as a tax partner at Arthur Andersen and Ernst & Young. He has also authored a number of books on taxation and published over a hundred articles in various publications. He has been a regular speaker/presenter at various local and international seminars in the area of taxation. He has been an Adjunct Professor at a few local universities and currently is Adjunct Professor at the Business School, Monash University, Malaysia. Internationally, he is a member of the Board of Trustees of the International Bureau of Fiscal Documentation based in Amsterdam which is a well-known tax research and publication centre. He is a Council Member of MICPA since 2004 and an Executive Committee Member since 2010. He was elected as the Vice President in June 2017. He is also a Council Member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA), a Fellow of CPA Australia, Past President of the Chartered Tax Institute of Malaysia and Past Chairman of the Malaysia Branch of the International Fiscal Association.

    Ms Toh Beng Siew is the Head of IBM’s Regional Accounting Center in Kuala Lumpur covering the Asia Pacific geography. Over the past 24 years, she has held operations, financial and management accounting roles that provide support to various segments of the IBM business including consolidation, controls, revenue, cost, expense, balance sheet, tax and statutory reporting. Ms Toh is a member of Malaysia Institute of Accountants, as well as Fellow and Council member of CPA Australia leading the Global Business Services Task Force in Malaysia.

    Dr Nurmazilah Dato’ Mahzan was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants on 2 July 2016. She was previously the MIA Deputy Chief Executive Officer.

    Prior to her role in the MIA, Dr Nurmazilah was the Director of University Malaya Graduate School of Business. She started her career with Arthur Andersen in 1993, and later joined KUB Malaysia Berhad as Group Accounts Manager. Her corporate experience covers various industries including property development and construction, banking, unit trusts, trading and manufacturing.

    Dr Nurmazilah was a MIA Council member from 1 August 2012 until 31 July 2014, a Member of the Malaysian Accounting Standards Board (MASB), elected member of Board of Governors for the Institute of Internal Auditors Malaysia (IIA Malaysia), Council member of The Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA) and the Honorary Treasurer with Persatuan Ekonomi Malaysia. Dr Nurmazilah also served in various committees of MIA and MICPA.

    She holds a PhD in accounting from University of Birmingham, United Kingdom. She has conducted various research projects in the areas of auditing, financial reporting and corporate governance.

    Nicol David is one of the most decorated athletes of a generation and has broken a succession of remarkable records during her career to date.

    After turning professional in 2000 at the age of 17, she has won the World Open title 8 times and retained the no. 1 ranking for 108 consecutive months, the longest reigning World no.1 squash player.

    In July 2016, Nicol reached her 151st successive month in the top 10, almost 13 years - overtaking the previous record established by Men’s player Peter Nicol in October 2006. According to the New York Times, “David is the Serena Williams or Roger Federer of women’s squash, and she shows no sign of quitting."

    Nicol has been active in promoting sports as a vehicle to empower children. She has been, and still is, the Ambassador for the StreetSquash New York, a programme under the National Urban Squash and Education Association USA which empowers kids to reach their goals. She is also the Co-Chair of their newly formed Squash Professional Advisory Board. Her other involvements include a Sport for Good Ambassador for the Laureus Foundation and the National Goodwill Ambassador for UNDP.

    Nicol has been recognised and awarded internationally and locally. A recent notable award was the Tournament of Champions Women’s Leadership Award 2017 (the only Asian to receive this award). She has been awarded the WSA Player of the Year on seven occasions: 6 consecutive years between 2005 to 2010 and 2012. In Malaysia, she was recently conferred the Federal title of "Datuk" by HRH the King on 9 September 2017 for all her contributions to the nation’s sports achievements.

    Charles Tilley OBE, FCMA, CGMA is Executive Chairman of The CGMA Research Foundation, which focuses upon Management Accounting thought leadership including developments in external and internal reporting, performance management, and the development of the finance function.

    Formerly CIMA's CEO, Charles spearheaded the joint venture with the American Institute of CPAs, and was fundamental in conceiving and creating the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants.

    Charles is chairman of International Federation of Accountants’ (IFAC) professional accountants in business committee. Charles is a member of the International Integrated Reporting Council, and previously chaired the IIRC’s technical task force, the group responsible for developing the < IR > framework. He is also a member of the UK Financial Reporting Council’s Lab and the A4S Advisory Council.

    Prior to joining CIMA, Charles was a partner at KPMG, Group Finance Director of investment bank, Hambros. He has also held many non-executive positions, including as Deputy Chairman of Great Ormond Street Hospital.

    Charles was recognised in the 2016 New Year’s honours list and awarded the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for services to the economy.

    Mr. Yap started his career with an international firm specialising in audit, accounting and business advisory services. Thereafter he joined the Royal Malaysian Customs in the Licensing and Enforcement Sections before returning to the private sector as Financial Controller where he gained valuable knowledge and skills in the areas of administration, finance and accounting. He subsequently joined the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (LHDNM) to further his career.

    During his career with the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (LHDNM), he had wide exposure and knowledge in personal and corporate tax, tax audit, withholding tax and compliance tax at the Corporate Tax and Withholding Tax Sections. He was also appointed by LHDNM as a Prosecuting Officer to conduct civil proceedings in Malaysian courts pursuant to the Income Tax Act 1967.

    Mr. Yap has more than 30 years of experience in a wide range of industries and is presently Head of unit in the Policy Development Unit, Regulatory Development & Services Division with Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia.

He is a principal at MPP Associates, Inc., where he serves public, private, and not-for-profit corporations as a part-time or interim CFO. Currently he is serving numerous companies on Long Island, N.Y. Earlier in his career, he worked as managing director of the Finance and Accounting Practice Group of Madison Davis Professional Services (MDPS), LLC, which he joined by combining his consulting practice with MDPS in 2004.

    An active IMA member for 40 years, Mr. Palker previously served as a member of IMA’s Global Board of Directors, on IMA’s Small Business Financial and Regulatory Affairs Committee, and as president of the IMA Long Island Chapter Board of Directors.     Nazrin Hassan is the Group Chief Executive Officer of Cradle Fund Sdn Bhd (Cradle), an organisation that provides early stage funding and investment from Pre-Seed to Series A for potential and high-calibre technology start-ups. In his early career stage, Nazrin was an executive in Corporate Finance in CIMB before pursuing his new venture in running his own start-up, Zarnet, in 2001. He is a former Council Member of Technopreneurs Association of Malaysia (TeAM) where he lobbied for a development fund to narrow the funding gap in the early stage. This led to the successful introduction of the Cradle Investment Programme (CIP) in June 2003 with a fund allocation of RM100 Million from the Malaysian government as part of the economic stimulus package.

    Prof. Akram holds a B.A. Honours degree in Islamic Jurisprudence and Legislation from the University of Jordan, Amman, Jordan and a Ph.D. in Principles of Islamic Jurisprudence (Usul al-Fiqh) from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, United Kingdom. He has presented many papers related to Islamic Banking and Finance and other Fiqh topics at national and International level and has conducted many training sessions particullarly on Islamic Banking and Finance for different sectors since 1999. He is a registered Shariah Advisor for Islamic Securities with the Securities Commission of Malaysia and has acted as Shariah advisor in the issuance of several sukuks. In addition he is also prolific author of academic works specifically in the areas of Islamic Banking and Finance. He is the receipient of Zaki Badawi Award for Excellence in Shariah Advisory and Research.

Prior to Airasia, Siva had a long tenure at the Usaha Tegas Group, where he was part of Astro start-up team and managed major M&A activities across multiple industries globally. He was also a co-founder and COO Asia for a US based permission marketing video internet technology start-up and headed the business development in Southeast Asia of a major US civil engineering consultant.

    Prior to that, she worked as an Senior Analyst at MyCERT department, focusing on response And analysis of security incidents. Roziah has been involved in the computer security field for over 15 years, mainly in Computer Security Incident Handling. Her area of focus and interest is on Computer Security Incident Handling, Incident Analysis and Network Security. Roziah had been a key person in handling and resolving many computer security incidents reported to MyCERT from the Malaysia constituency.

    Roziah had also conducted many talks, presentations, trainings in local and also in international in the field of computer security particularly in Computer Security Incident Handling. Apart from that, Roziah has also produced various Security Advisories and Alerts on latest security threats observed in the constituency.     A former investment banker and lawyer, he joined Khazanah from the CIMB Group where he headed investment banking globally for the group as the Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Investment Banking, CIMB Group and the Chief Executive Officer of CIMB Investment Bank. Prior to that, he was the Managing Partner of Messrs Zaid Ibrahim & Co. He has also been in corporate finance at Rashid Hussain Securities and an advocate and solicitor at Shearn Delamore & Co.

    He is a member of the boards of Yayasan Tuanku Syed Putra Perlis and Yayasan Tuanku Fauziah.

    Dato’ Charon read Philosophy, Politics and Economics at Balliol College, University of Oxford and Law at the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London. He is a Chartered Banker and a Fellow of the Asian Institute of Chartered Bankers. He is a non-practising barrister of the Middle Temple and advocate and solicitor of the High Court of Malaya.

    Leon often consults with customers, supported by the group’s engineering and domain experts, driving programs and ventures that leverage powerful new platforms like AWS to find newer and better ways to serve it’s clients. He often evangelizes incumbents and large enterprises to use the same tools and thinking of disruptive startups, to deliver new value, products and services to customers before a startup does.

    Leon also worked with the group executive director Tan Seng Kit, to design an innovation engine, called Strateq Lab to be more experimental and isolated from the latency of the larger group, to drive innovation for customers at the speed of a startup. The best experiments of Strateq Lab become new products and ventures for the group after they meet some predetermined criteria of success.

    Mr Ma. Sivanesan is currently attached to Tax Division, Ministry of Finance as the Deputy Undersecretary (Indirect Tax & GST Policy Sector). Has been with the Tax Division, Ministry of Finance since 1996.

    Mr. Ma. Sivanesan holds Bachelor of Economics (Hons) from University of Malaya and Masters in Economics from Tohuku University, Sendai, Japan. He also holds post-graduate Diploma in Public Administration awarded by the National Institute of Public Administration.

    He has extensive experience in the area of public finance, especially in tax policies, both direct and indirect taxes. He started his career as an Administrative and Diplomatic Officer in 1996, and has served in Ministry of Finance Malaysia since then in various capacities. Throughout his service, he has been involved in the preparation of many annual national Budgets where he has contributed in developing various tax policies and incentives for investments. In his current position as the Deputy Undersecretary of Tax Division (Indirect Tax and GST Policy) which he has held since March 2014, he has been directly involved in the GST implementation in Malaysia including the improvement in the Malaysian GST model, the finalization of the GST Act and all its subsidiary legislations, coordination of GST training, publicity and promotion. He has also played a key role in some of the indirect tax reforms, particularly on excise duty restructuring on tobacco products and alcoholic beverages. He also represented Malaysia in sharing the Malaysian Experience in Implementing GST in The Asia Pacific Tax Forum, held in Jakarta in April 2014. He is also currently leading the Task Force on implementing the 2017 Malaysian Harmonized System of Tariff Classification and also the Project Director for the Malaysian Government Tax Management and Information System (MyCukai) at the Ministry of Finance.

    He also serves as Member in the Intellectual Property Corporation of Malaysia (MyIPO) effective from July 2016 . At MyIPO, he is the Chairman of Audit Committee and member of Investment Committee. He has also previously served in the Finance and Investment Committee of German-Malaysia Institute, Alternate Board Member in Maritime Institute of Malaysia and member of Board of Governors in National Kidney Foundation, Malaysia.
